Course DescriptionThe objective of this course is to prepare those who expect to come in to regular contact with WebSphere MQ version 7 or earlier to administer, support, trouble-shoot and tune Service Oriented Architecture applications within the IBM WebSphere MQ (MQ Series) environments. The course concentrates on the experience of the author and instructor in many different MQ and other middleware engagements, with an emphasis on supportability, maintainability and scalability of MQ based solutions. There is one optional module with this class, and that is the Multi-Instance Queue Manager made available in MQ 7.0.1. The facilities of multi-instance queue managers and how they relate to other mechanisms for high-availability are covered, and a lab exercise run to prove the benefits of, and additional overheads caused by multi-instance queue managers.
