Course Description
Making light work of installing and maintaining WebSphere Application Server version 6.1.
This is a four day course in how to install, patch and maintain typical WebSphere Application Server version 6.1. The course is based upon our considerable experience in administering distributed computing environments over ten years of consulting and training.
The course comprises short lectures to outline principles and much longer labs to explore those principles. This is a very hands-on course and is suitable for:

Pre-requisites
Students should have a basic understanding of web applications, some understanding of web services. An awareness of Java helps, but is by no-means necessary.
Objectives
On completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Install and patch WebSphere Application Server (WAS) version 6.1
- To understand and configure HTTP services with IBM HTTP Server based on Apache
- Understand the three Java editions
- Understand Java 2 Enterprise Edition - J2EE
- Understand web modules, ORBs and Enterprise Java Beans.
- Build and deploy a web application into WAS version 6.1
